Lemosho Route

  • Day 1 – Londorossi Gate → Mti Mkubwa Camp: Enter the rainforest for your first uphill trek — monkeys in the trees and anticipation everywhere
  • Day 2 – Mti Mkubwa → Shira 1 Camp: Leave the jungle behind and hike into open moorlands with the first views of Kilimanjaro’s peak.
  • Day 3 – Shira 1 → Moir Hut: Cross the wide Shira Plateau, surrounded by sweeping views and thin, crisp air.
  • Day 4 – Moir Hut → Barranco Camp (via Lava Tower): Climb high to 15,000 feet at Lava Tower, then descend into a stunning valley for acclimatization.
  • Day 5 – Barranco → Barafu Camp: Scale the Barranco Wall with a hands-and-feet scramble, passing “Kissing Rock,” and reach base camp for summit prep.
  • Day 6 – Barafu → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp: Begin the midnight summit push, reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise, then descend through exhaustion and pride.
  • Day 7 – Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate” We walked out of the rainforest changed — the climb tested us, but it also reminded us what real friendship and grit look like.
